Earth Day Oregon is a non-profit organization that aims to amplify the work Oregon organizations are doing to improve the environment.  The CEC has joined Earth Day Oregon, Institute for Applied Ecology, Greenbelt Land Trust to celebrate Earth Day with events happening all month!

Thursday, April 4th - Earth Day Tap Talk at Common Fields (5:30 - 6:30 pm)

Meet our CEC program Leaders at Common Fields and discover actions you can take for the Earth. Farmer Liz will share SAGE advice; Teacher Karin will share NaturePlay wisdom; Michel will take us on a classroom food adventure, and we will end by sharing community Earth Day events to help engage YOU in projects that help our planet!

Tuesday, April 9th - Block 15 Dine Out for the CEC!

Surely the most delicious way to help the Earth! Eat at Block 15 on Tuesday, April 9th and a portion of the proceeds from your food sale (at both locations) will be donated to the Corvallis Environmental Center! This is a wonderful way of supporting a favorite local business and the CEC!

Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16th and 17th; Wonder and Worry Screens at PRAX

a 90-minute, faculty- and student-produced documentary about Chris Johns, an Oregonian and conservationist who became editor in chief of National Geographic Magazine. The film screens on the OSU campus in the new arts center on April 17 and 18. Chris and his daughter, Louise, also a photojournalist, will be on hand for a panel discussion afterward, and an exhibit of their photography will precede the event. It's the story of the power of photography and journalism to save the planet.

Saturday, April 20 - Planet Palooza Chintimini Park/C3 (2 pm - 5 pm)

Kids get to dress up as their favorite animal and parade around Chintimini Park. After the parade, visit our Solutions Fair at C3 (Corvallis Community Center) with activities from all your favorite Corvallis environmental non-profits!

Community Earth Day Eco Art Show - Call for Submissions! 

 

April 20-22 - Corvallis Community Center (C3).  Eco Artists Show and Tell on Earth Day - Monday, April 22, 5:30 - 6:30pm.

Seeking artists who can help us reimagine our world of waste! Use material destined for the landfill to help us SEE what we are throwing away and REIMAGINE what we can do. Turn garbage into something beautiful, usable, or help draw attention to the world of waste.

 

We would love to see costumes for Planet Palooza's "Procession of the Species Parade" made out of recycled material! There will be a photo shoot for our Wearable and Costumed Eco Art participants @ Planet Palooza (April 20th) at 3:30 pm, just outside the main entrance of C3.  

Do you have an Eco Art piece you would like to share with our community? Please submit your Eco Art dream using this form.  We want to ensure we have room for your art piece in the C3 lounge!

Saturday, April 20 - Earth Day Bird Walk at CBow Ridge (9am-noon)

Celebrate Earth Day a few days early with a fun and relaxed outing to Greenbelt’s newest conserved property, CBow Ridge in the Coburg Hills.  Whether you’ve never tried birdwatching or are an experienced “twitcher”, you can enjoy this walk of 1-2 miles on gravel roads and through meadows, with some elevation up and down as we explore this diverse property.

Saturday, April 20 - Volunteer Work Party at Kingston Prairie, Saturday, April 20th (10am - 2pm)

Join Greenbelt staff and fellow volunteers for an Earth Day work party removing un-needed fences at Santiam Kingston Hills on Saturday, April 20th, from 10 am to 2 pm. We will work to remove old wire and posts, opening up wildlife corridors and allowing for future property stewardship. Question: jean@greenbeltlandtrust.org 

Saturday, April 20 - Common Fields Earth Day After Work Party

(6 pm - 8 pm).

Celebrate Earth Day with your favorite environmental NGOs at Common Fields. Discover what we can do when we work together and celebrate our Earth! Corvallis Environmental Center, Institute for Applied Ecology, Greenbelt Land Trust, and Willamette River Keepers will be there to greet you!
